Here it comes...2013 is on the way!!

Well it's about that time...2013 is almost here!! I'm excited, but I didn't make any resolutions! Shoot, why would I? I always break them after 2 or 3 months anyway lol! I'm gonna make plans but not resolutions...but are they one in the same? LOL! This month, January, my main focus is startin' the couch to 5k beginners running program and cuttin' out red meat. I honestly don't eat as much red meat as I used to, but I know it's not the best...one reason it gives me really stinky bowel movements!

I'm also planning to be very very mindful of my calorie intake. I'm using a Bodymedia Fit armband to help log my calories along with MyFitnessPal! Both of these tools are VERY helpful!

Anyway I pray for blessings and increase in 2013 for my family and friends, and to each one of you who have stopped by for a visit!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Tryin' to Get the Hang of This!

I'll get the hang of this bloggin' thing at some point in time! I think my biggest problem is makin' the pages how I want them to look. But I'm not givin' up! I wanna finally be accountable and consistent! Thankfully, this blog site has an app...that'll make it sooo much easier to post throughout the day because I'm pretty sure my job's intranet won't allow blogger access!

Well, I have a little bit of time left to get my mind right to start the C25k program. Couch to 5k is a weekly walk/run program to help the beginner runner build up their stamina to complete a 5k run. Actually, I think you can run 30mins straight by the end of the program. So we'll see how it goes!!

Let the Countdown Begin!!

Well, it's almost here...2013!! I'm ready for it, but it got here so quickly! I've tried throughout 2012 to focus on my weight loss, eating healthier, and being more active, but I always find myself giving up. A new day is dawning and I'm well overdue for a change!

Just a little bit about me....I'm a 37y.o. single female living in High Point NC. I work for a major medical insurance company and I recently completed my associates degree in Information Technology.

I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 1999 when I weighed my highest of 242lbs (and I really don't want to look at those pictures anymore!) Now I'm at 190lbs but haven't been back to my doctor to test my PCOS. I lost the weight very slowly, and on the bright side, I haven't gained it back!! WOOHOO!!

I'd start a diet, lose 15-20lbs, get comfortable, and then stop dieting. Then I would start all over again...start, stop, repeat...start, stop, repeat!

I've completed a few 5k road runs, but I've walked most of the 3 miles and I'd end up beating myself up at the end. The extra weight I'm carrying is causing havoc on my knees and I know I've gotta lose at least 20-30 more pounds before I can feel "comfortable" running a complete 5k and eventually a 10k and beyond.
But at this point in time, I'm tired of doing the same routine, getting some results, and then end up back at square one. 2013 will be a better, healthier year for me, so watch out...here I come!

I'm gonna give this blogging thing a shot! I've been wanting to blog for a long time but I didn't feel I was 'creative' enough to write a blog. But shoot, now I know that all I basically have to do is write out my thoughts, it should be a piece of cake...not literally lol!!

So I'd love if you'd like to follow me on my journey!
